Here are some photos that I took on-set while shooting with Katinka Tromp in Rotterdam.  The makeup styling was inspired by movie stars of the 30’s, 40’s & 50’s. I can’t wait to see the final product!

Makeup for Ripe Wussy-Free in Amsterdam

A few weeks back I was asked to collaborate on a photo shoot for Ripe Wussy- Free, an exclusive street-style clothing line straight out of Amsterdam.

It was a fun day getting to work with the styling team and lovely models from Ripe Wussy-Free. The look was edgy & fresh for Spring.

You can check out the following link to see more photos from the shoot, as well as to get yourself some pieces from the Ripe Wussy-Free collection:  http://ripe-wussy-free.tumblr.com/post/110631077644/the-ripe-look-threesome

Electric Beach Weekend Flyer

Yay! Summer is here, and with summer comes a lot of wild and crazy parties.  This is a flyer for Electric Beach Weekend in Toronto.  The girls you see here are dancers from Kharizma Entertainment.  I designed their makeup look. Very Jem-inspired. I really enjoy doing event makeup. It’s always more creative and eye-catching and all-around more fun to do.

Canada Philippine Fashion Week 2014 – Toronto, Canada

Earlier this month, I was asked to be a key makeup artist for Canada Philippine Fashion Week in Toronto, Canada.  I was more than excited to be a part of the fashion week festivities for two reasons. First, runway makeup is so much fun to do. And secondly, I am of Filipino heritage, and I’m also Canadian!

Canada Philippine Fashion Week (CPFW) is a showcase of the best in haute couture, style, innovation, culture and creativity of the Philippines. It is dedicated to the promotion and development of Filipino fashion talent in the Philippines and Canada, all for a good cause – the Kol Hope Foundation for Children, a charitable organization that helps children with disabilities in both countries.

I was delighted to hear that MAC Cosmetics would be providing the makeup for all the shows…that is a lot of makeup!  My old co-worker and friend Kim Timbol, was the Associate Makeup Director for CPFW.  We worked together at MAC for many years. Under her direction and along with some other MAC artists, past & present, we braved the wild and crazy backstage scene, getting all the runway models ready and looking their best.

The Power of Makeup

Hey everyone, I realize I don’t blog nearly enough so I thought I would post some videos that I have come across in my travels which illustrate the power of makeup.  Love it or hate it, makeup can do wonders for people with poor skin conditions, acne, birthmarks, or even conspicuous tattoos which need covering up.  These videos are just incredible:

I’m back!

Uncategorized

Hello everyone!

For those of you who know me, you’ll know that I just came back from a 7-month hiatus.  I was working abroad, living the dream, working on a cruise ship for Holland America Line.  More specifically, I worked on 3 cruise ships:  the Maasdam, the Eurodam, and the Rotterdam.

No, I wasn’t doing makeup on board (although I gave a few makeup lessons to fellow crew members).  I was a Port Shopping Lecturer.  I looooved this job because it combined my love of shopping with my love of cruising! Basically, this job involved getting up on stage and giving talks on the various ports we would visit, and informing the passengers about all the great shopping opportunities to be had.  While I was in the ports of call, I’d visit the recommended stores and help the passengers with any and all of their shopping needs.

In 7 months, I visited 18 countries spanning North America, the Caribbean, Central & South America, French Polynesia and Hawaii.  What an incredible experience!  I made new friends from all over the world and I have memories that will last a lifetime.

Of course I missed home immensely!  It’s great to be back.  Will I do it again? Maybe…But, I’m here for the summer!  So, if anyone needs a makeup artist for weddings, showers, photo shoots, special events, or whatever the case may be, drop me a line because I’m back!
